S.H.E's Hebe Tien held her celebration concert last night in Taiwan. Already said she would show up at the concert, Selina Ren indeed made an appearance except she and husband Richard were hiding within the crowds. The singer was in good shape the whole two hours. She couldn't hold her tears when she heard Hebe sang "You."

Very thankful for Selina's appearance, Hebe praised her as very optimistic. She later made Selina cry again: "Wifey, I Love you and thank you so much."

Selina Ren's Alternative in Showbiz: Radio

Selina Ren's appearance might be affected by the brutal accident, but she can certainly continue her career with her voice.

Fifty four percent of skin on the S.H.E. member are burned from an explosive accident last October. It would be a long road of recovery for her. Her father Ren Ba once again accepted a television interview and talked about his daughter's future plans. He has thought of other alternative jobs for her in case she cannnot return to on-screen.

"She doesn't have to continue her career as a singer," he said. "Just in case, she can be successful as a host, sharing her life experiences with more people."

Ren Ba already discussed any possibility for Selina to work in the radio station with some radio people. He believes although Selina's injuries aren't recovered yet, she can still have fun and success from radio.

Selina's wedding with fiance Richard Chang would be delayed for at least a year. Ren Ba thanks Chang for his understanding and time he spends with his daughter during this difficult times.

"She wants to be a bride happily. It's tough for her to be a pretty bride when she is in pain."

Selina Ren's Fiance Drops Tears During TV Interview

After her father and sister were interviewed on television, Selina Ren's fiance Richard Chang appeared on a TV interview yesterday.

Making his first TV program appearance, Chang talked about Selina's side of story and described the explosive scene was not seriously planned out. The S.H.E member was actually very nervous on the day of filming the explosive scene. There were no water, stunt double, rehearsal, and not even the basic fire equipment. Looking at the videos Selina's assistant took before the accident, Selina and her partner Yu Hao Ming were standing at the door of the warehouse. Already scared to death, Selina eventually walked in while holding Yu's hand.

"Selina was very scared but she didn't dare to speak out," Chang said. "They just took their first step, and the explosion already happened. No time to even run away!"

The immediate treatment after the accident was a joke, too. The heavily burned Selina and Yu were sent to a nearby small hospital, but the hospital refused to treat them; it was Selina who called an ambulance from a specialized hospital to the set. Only a stretcher was available when the ambulance arrived and Yu generously let Selina to lay on it. Chang expressed Selina is very grateful of Yu's action.

"During the one hour ride to the hospital, Yu was encouraging her. A little black person encouraging another black person, Selina didn't forget about this part."

The singer's legs are sacrificed in this brutal accident. Other than the bottom of her feet and toes, all other areas of her feet are ruined. Chang said the singer cannot sleep well after the accident because of pain. She can only bend her knees 90 degrees. She should be able to walk fine in half of a year if she continues physiotherapy. However, still a long way to go.

"I've been thinking what I want the most during this period. Apology? Money? It's all meaningless. The thing [healthy Selina] I want can't return anymore," Chang sobbed. "I think it needs 20 years for scars and everything to be healed. Basically, she doesn't have sweat glands on her legs anymore."

Chang dropped tears three times on the show and cannot seem to let it go. He said Selina does not blame anyone, but sometimes on herself for being a coward.

"She said it's her fault, too. It might be alright she just say she is scared. She even blames herself for running too slowly. But I don't think it's her fault!"

It is said their wedding would be hold on April 1 as planned, however, Chang announced it would be delayed indefinitely and the decision is made by him and Selina.

"We've been discussing it. The longer it delays, the better she would recover. I hope she can be a pretty and happy bride on her big day."

Selina Ren Settles Compensation Case

It is finally coming to an end.

After Selina Ren got injured from an explosive accident on filming set last October, the issue of compensation has been in talk with the filming crew. It was until last night the parties finally agreed on a settlement.

Agreed by the filming crew, the crew needs to pay fees on medical treatments, medical procedures including cosmetic surgeries, recovery (2 years), work absence (1 year), psychological and emotions counseling, treatment equipments, etc. The exact amount of fees is not disclosed due to the privacy policy signed by the companies. However, it is estimated to be at least $100 million.

Finally settling it down by Chinese New Year, the S.H.E member is very happy about it.

"Thank you for your concerns," she said. "The two men who love me [dad and fiance] can finally relax, and enjoy the new year. Not bad."

Selina's dad and fiance Richard Chang were present when signing the agreement settlement. Asked Richard whether he is satisfied with the results, he did not reply.

"This is not my decision, and it's not about my opinion. I don't know what I should say. Let's talk about it when I know what I should say."

Chen Ming Zhang, director of the drama Selina was filming, hopes everyone can let Selina and Yu Hao Ming, the other member who got injured from the accident, to rest. However, he did not comment whether he would go visit the two in the future.

Selina Ren's Face Without Make-up After Accident

Is the media revealing the truth or just hurting the injured singer once more?

Selina Ren made her first public appearance last week after explosion accident. Her parents once describe her face now is in red, just like Chinese historical figure Guan Yu, whose red face is his well-known feature.

A magazine photographed the S.H.E member before her press conference, showing her true face without make-up. Her face is partially shown as the bottom half of it is covered behind a red mask.

Selina's mood is not affected by the magazine report, and already knew she was being photographed. Her record company HIM explain the singer's face is not always that red, only when she exercises or gets emotional. They also clear up they only used an hour and a half to apply make up, not four hours like the magazine reported.

Been recovering these past months after the accident, it is rumored Selina would be back to work this year in June. But her record company stress this is only everyone's hope.

"This is our hope and encouragement for her," they say. "Establishing a goal can help her recover faster."

Selina Ren's First Public Appearance After Explosive Accident

Selina Ren finally appears in the public!

The S.H.E member has been in the hospital the past three months after she got hurt from an explosive accident in October during filming. Approved by doctors, she left the hospital today and held a press conference, facing the public the first time.

Selina's dad and doctors, and GM of her record company HIM appeared first at the press conference. They accounted Selina's injuries and treatment after the accident, stressing her injuries aren't in a stable condition yet and hope everyone can give her some safe space.

Selina did not show up until half way through the event. She slowly walked in with fellow S.H.E members Hebe and Ella. Her tears dropped already when she showed up.

"Thank you everyone. Sorry I let you worried," she sobbed, "Today I'm finally going home."

Haven't appeared as S.H.E for a long time, Ella suggested introducing themselves as a group to the public. After Selina introduced herself, everyone was clapping enthusiastically for her and Ella wept.

Selina thanked her medical team, people who took care of her, her family, fiance Richard Chang, record company, media, fans, and blessings from all artists.

"You're just like angels," she described her medical team.

Family Talks About Selina Ren on TV

Selina Ren's family tells the audience more about things happened after the explosive accident.

Selina's dad and younger sister Kristen were invited to be on Taiwanese talk show "Life Show" recently. They disclosed Selina is prepared to face everyone in public.

"She's prepared!," her dad said, "I keep telling her when she encounters anything, just face it, handle it, and let it go."

Still cares about her looks, Selina has been trying on make up on her injured face. By the time she makes her first public appearance three months after the accident, she will expose her face to the public.

Talked about when he knew about his daughter's injury, Selina's dad disclosed he asked doctors about her private part.

Ella Chen Doesn't Accept Director Chen's Apology

Sometimes it's hard to forgive someone.

S.H.E.'s Selina Ren was injured from an explosive accident during filming last year in October. Director of the drama Selina was filming Chen Ming Zhang has been out of the scene since then and avoided the media. After more than 80 days, Chen finally released a 2000-words apology letter recently.

In his statement, he explains he avoids the media to prevent his words being twisted on the reports. He expresses he was notified from the explosive blaster and martial arts man that the scene is "absolutely safe" to film. He is not a professional at this field and would let the professionals handle it.

"Besides trusting the professionals, what else could I do?," Chen writes, "But now it seems I'm wrong. I shouldn't have trusted them completely. If everything could go back, I shouldn't even film that scene!"

Selina's good sister Ella Chen and dad appeared together at an award ceremony yesterday and commented on Chen's apology letter. Ella doesn't understand why Chen didn't apologize until now, even when he mentions he cares about their feelings a lot in the letter. Now he even "moved on" and to film a new drama soon; it really is hard for them to accept.

Selina's dad disclosed Selina had another emotional breakdown when her fiance brought up director Chen's apology. Therefore, it's not a right time for Chen to pay a visit to the hospital at this moment. Selina will be making a public appearance soon, probably around January 20th, and she's 100% prepared.

A new year is here, Selina Ren's fiance (Richard Chang) writes another long letter on HIM.COM, talking about Selina's current condition and his thoughts. Here are some of the main points in the letter:

"The Beginning of Another Stage of Challenge"

• It's hard to describe the 54% burnt surface area and 3rd degree burn. The effect of them is an issue we must deal with sooner or later.
• She wants to go home and doctors approved that, but here comes the question: how would she deal with how outsiders look at her? How long does she have to hide? She can't hide forever.
• Her face will recover, and doctors say it's recovering faster than expected. Her hair grows out already. Skin breaks and blisters are common. Muscle atrophy on her legs, but she still needs to practice walking. She puts on some weight, she is forced to do so for growing out skin. Her scars will fade, but will take a very long time.
• In order to face everyone calmly, she must face herself calmly. She must accept changes on her appearance, must face this challenge, so she can continue to believe in this world, believe this chalenge is meaningful.
• She's very afraid to practice sitting down and standing up, tears always burst out when doing it. But she tells herself "the physical therapy instructor says I need to do that 20 times everyday."
• Sequelas like sweat gland damages, sensitive lancinating, and hot and cold imbalances, will stay with her forever. She would gets mad sometimes, but she knows it's not helpful at all. She can't stop getting depressed, but she would always find an excuse to comfort herself. She doesn't think about how awful her legs look, but forces herself to stare at them when changing medicine.
• H.E [Hebe & Ella]'s friendship, parents support, doctors' professional treatment, nurses' patience, HIM staff, A-Mei's short animated video, Matilda Tao's visit, Mayor's encouragement, people on Weibo, etc can make her cry easily. You don't have to speak out, just give her your simple blessing. You don't have to do anything, but many friends have been very supportive. Your support is her strength to do physical therapy workouts. She knows she's not alone.

Selina Ren's fiance Richard Chang (Ah Chong) updated Selina's current condition today in a long letter on HIM.COM. The following are the main points of the letter:

"Make This Challenge More Meaningful!"

• 54% burnt surface means only 1/2 of her back, 3/4 of her shoulders and front stomach, less than 1/2 of her arms, palms of both hands, toes, and bottom of her foot are not injured.
• New-grown skin are thin, dry, and easy to break, but they are growing out quickly.
• Rehabilitation is very tough for her because she has to bear great pain. Depressed, cried, tired, still need to do it again afterward.
• Third degree burn means she's going to face a long term of sequelae after she recovered. It's impossible for her appearance to be like before.
• Muscle atrophy changed her body. Both of her legs are like a beehive. Injuries on her arms are like fresh raw beef. Other parts of the body look like they are taped with irregular shapes of pink bandaids.
• She doesn't want to believe it but it's not a dream...She's completely hopeless but dreams of hope. She wants to return to the past but can only welcome the future. She is afraid but still need to prepare herself and comfort everyone with her smiles.
• This challenge would be more meaningful if proper investigation is encouraged, if director and staff don't try to avoid the incident, if the media just want to get exclusive photos of the injured Selina, if they tell what they should've told, face what they should've faced, be responsible for things they should be responsible for, and improve anything necessary.
• No matter how long she has to endure pain, she's still waiting for the day that she will pass this challenge. I'm still waiting for S.H.E's next album. Maybe her body and looks are unable to recover completely, but she will be back, and will be soon...In the future, I believe, this society won't just be curious about her change in looks, there are more meaningful and significant concerns waiting for her.

Selina Ren 'Appears' in the Public

Although she cannot physically appear in the public at the moment, but the injured S.H.E member decides to shows up with her voice at least.

S.H.E's Hebe and Ella attended to a winter clothes event yesterday. Selina, currently in the hospital, specially recorded a message to fans:

After they listened to the sound recording, Hebe and Ella's eyes got teary. The two put a blessing card for Selina on the Christmas tree at the event, wishing the injured singer to recover soon.

After taking skin from scalp, Selina's hair has been growing out quickly. Although her legs are injured, but the optimistic singer expresses good that she already passed the age of showing off her legs. Selina Ren Has Her 3rd Skin Graft

Selina Ren has finished another skin grafting surgery on the 24th and this is the third one. It was a successful surgery and her record company HIM Record expressed: "Selina's surgery was successful. Larger burned areas are grafted. For smaller burned areas, we hope they can heal on their own."

Awakened after the surgery, Selina expressed she dreamed of Iron Man and his assistant Pepper encouraging her and wishing her to have his toughness and Pepper's optimistic thoughts. Selina Ren Off the Bed, Tries A Wheelchair Ride

The injured Selina Ren is getting better and better everyday. Bandages on her thumb, face, head, and left arm are removed already in the past several days. Yesterday the singer made a bigger progress: she got up the first time since she was injured.

Nurses were changing Selina's mattress yesterday from an air cushion one to a regular one. She was transferred to a wheelchair while the nurses did their job. She happily requested the nurse to push her around the room. Although it was only a short one minute "ride," but she certainly enjoyed it.

Besides physical pain, Selina is suffering emotional pain as well. Her therapist led her to remember details of the accident and she broke down thinking about every scene. Although still having nightmares often, but she is feeling calmer after venting out emotions.

A day after she got to ride on a wheelchair, Selina's parents updated on their Weibo that doctor has removed Selina's nasogastric feeding tube. Now she is feeling more comfortable in breathing and eating.

Selina Ren Looks At the Mirror, Face Now Unbandaged

It is the 24th day since S.H.E  member Selina was injured from an explosive accident. The singer is on a good track of recovering. Besides some of her fingers can be exposed, bandages on her face are gradually being removed. Yesterday Selina's dad Ren Ba wrote on Weibo happily that even his daughter's face is now unbandaged.

Selina asked for a mirror after changing medicines yesterday. The nurse looked at Ren Ba nervously, wondering what she should do. Explosives Engineer At Blame For Selina’s Accident

It’s been half a month since Selina Jen and her costar Yu Hao Ming were severely injured on the set of their drama “I have a date with spring”. According to the production team's investigation, the main cause of the accident was due to operational errors by the explosives engineer.

Five explosion points were setup to go off off one-by-one, but instead, they exploded all at once while the two stars were still running away from them. The investigation report has been submitted to the respective management companies. HIM records said they plan to meet with professionals before commenting on the report.

Many questions were raised after the investigation was made public.  However, that's the least of Ren Ba’s (Selina’s dad) concerns right now, “We are really not blaming anyone. What has passed has passed. We have really let go, and accepted the facts. I only think about her health.”

He said his daughter is thankful for the beautiful life she has been given and will frankly accept her scars. Ren Ba also updated his blog on the 10th with some good news -- "Thank you to the greater powers! Hsuan Hsuan (Selina) slept well last night. Today's process of re-applying her medication also went well. Her hands have been wrapped in bandage for two weeks, (but) her left thumb can finally be exposed to see daylight!"

HIM records exec Derek Shih also denied reports of Selina suffering from acute kidney failure. He called the rumors "completely fabricated" and asked the media to refrain from speculating irrationally over her condition. Shih also lashed out at news about various New Year countdown events in the mainland that claimed to have invited S.H.E to perform together. He called it “Ridiculous, not possible!”

According to reports, Selina’s costar Yu Hao Ming is still unable to move his arms and legs. He is said to be having trouble with sleeping lately, and has been resting on a turning bed due to the injuries on his back. The process of changing his wound dressing is still extremely painful as one can imagine. On a positive note, his recent fever has subsided and the wounds on his face are also healing.

HIM Records responded on the investigation report on the 10th:

1. The scene of the blast did not have sufficient fire extinguishing equipment:

There were no water buckets or water prepared at the scene of the incident. The wet sacks and fire extinguishers in place were for putting out the fire following the explosion. They were not prepared specifically for preventing the staff from getting hurt.

2. No stunt actors were arranged for the explosion scene:

The production team mentioned there were male and female stunt actors were on site. However, the script shows that the male stunt actor was only there for a fight scene; Moreover, the explosion scene was designed to fulfill the objective of showing the actors’ facial expressions. Both points prove that the stunt actors were not intended for filming the explosion.

3. Unable to provide active and effective medical care:

Immediately after the actors were hurt, the water that the production team claimed to have prepared was nowhere to be seen. In the absence of water preparation, only a small amount of distilled water (drinking water) was used for the emergency. Furthermore, no medical personnel were present at the scene of the incident so the golden hour of rescue was missed.

4. The responsibility of this incident:

The investigation report simply states “The cause of the incident was due to operational errors by the explosives engineer” as the only reason in its conclusion of who is responsible. The whole truth is not disclosed. It lacks in circumspect, and is also unconvincing.

Our company would like the production team to answer the above points, seek the full truth, and eliminate this type of accident from happening again.

Selina Moans Out in Pain During Sleep

It is Selina Ren's 13th day in Taiwan since she is injured from the explosive accident late last month. Her parents continue to update Selina's current condition on Weibo. Her father discloses his daughter does not sleep well and seems to have nightmares often. "She will fall asleep after changing medicine. Sometimes she would moan out in pain and tremble. It looks like she is having a nightmare."

Although she is in great pain, but Selina stays strong and tries to be optimistic. When she is in better condition, she would take off her oxygen mask and treat it like a microphone, singing songs with her father. "If I heard the sounds of drums, I'll be feeling happier," she sings.

Selina's record company HIM discloses the singer continues to have fever these 2 days. They are still waiting for a full report on the explosion accident from Hunan TV and hope there will be results this week.

Chen Han Dian Replaces Selina to Host 'Guess'

Selina Ren is the new host for Taiwanese variety show "Guess Guess Guess" along with Harlem Yu. The pair has been hosting this long-running show since this summer and received good feedback from audience.

However, since Selina is injured from an explosion accident last week, she cannot return to the show temporarily. Her last two pre-taped episodes of the show were aired already and new episodes to start taping on November 4. It's known Chen Han Dian (on the right), the goofball in talk show "Kangxi Laile," is taking Selina's place until she comes back. Amber Ann Xinya and Sister Butterfly will also join as co-hosts.

In addition, the show now moves to the Friday's 8-10PM spot. Jay Chou's new variety show "Mr. J Channel" takes "Guess Guess Guess"s old spot and to premier next Saturday (November 16) at 10 o'clock.

Selina Wants More Morphine to Relieve From Pain

Selina Ren @ S.H.E celebrated her 29th birthday at the hospital today. Good sisters Hebe and Ella originally planned to celebrate with the injured "lao po" [wife], but because Selina seemed to be having a fever today, the reunion is forced to canceled.

Doctors expressed having a light fever is normal during the recovering process. These two weeks are the key observation period.

Besides a fever, it's known Selina is actually not in a stable condition. A staff from the hospital disclosed there is blood leaking due to her injuries. "She is wearing protection clothing, and blood leaks out often from the inside," the staff said, "She is definitely in great pain, even when she gets painkiller injections."

In a letter written by Selina's fiance Richard Chang, it is confirmed Selina is currently experience the worst pain ever. "When she could not bare pain, she would cry, shiver, get mad, and complain," Richard wrote, "Then she would comfort herself in tears, 'I will be unconscious soon.' " He also disclosed Selina would often demand additional dose of morphine to relieve from pain.

After Selina is injured, her good sisters from S.H.E Ella and Hebe have been worried about their "lao po" (wife, Selina's nickname) and always wanted to visit her. Finally, yesterday afternoon the two went to the hospital to visit Selina after they finished their work in Mainland.

Ella and Hebe went into the isolation room and talked with Selina. They were very emotional and worried when they finally got to meet their injured S.H.E member. Selina even had to comfort them back. The singer suffers a serious 3rd degree burn on her arms and legs and might have to undergo a skin graft surgery if her injuries didn't recover well. However, more than 50% of her skin is burned and she can only take skin off from unhurt areas such as chest and stomach. It's known her medical team plans to use scalp skin for the surgery, which means Selina has to shave off all her hair.

In addition, Selina's mom confirmed that her daughter already shoot wedding photos before the accident, so at least she doesn't have to worry about that now.
