TVB Avoids Photographs With ATV Artists

C'mon TVB.

Stars from companies included TVB, ATV, RTHK, Metro, etc attended to Community Chest's Charity Walk yesterday. TVB had the most artists attending, including TV King and Queen Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang, who were the most popular at the walk. ATV and TVB's newcomers Adason Lo and Mag Lam, both the winners of recent singing competitions, finally had a chance to meet up, but it was not a successful one.

At a tea break after the event, reporters requested the two to stand together for photographs. Adason was standing there and waiting, and Mag stood up from her seat and was going to walk to him. Then TVB staffs immediately stopped her from going, making the two quite embarrassed.

Adason expressed he saw Mag on television often and it was his first time seeing her in real life. He praised The Voice winner sings with power. He hopes for collaboration in the future: "I heard an event wanted to invite us both to sing together, but it was a pity that it didn't happen."

ATV Gives Up Paying Ratings Report

Hong Kong's ATV is not letting you to see their bad ratings again.

Once received 0 point rating, ATV has decided to stop paying ratings report starting January 1, 2011. Not only the report reflects program ratings, it is also used as a guide for advertising companies to sell their commercials. Ratings report fee is shared along with TVB, ATV, and other advertising companies. TVB pays the most and ATV pays 3 million every year.

As for this decision, ATV's high executive explains: "Now many people switched to LED, Plasma TV. You can't place the receiver into new TV models, so ratings are not accurately recorded, that's why we are not paying ratings report again."

Now ATV is not paying its part, it is known TVB has to cover ATV's fee from now on, which TVB is very dissatisfied.

ATV's Miss Asia Scores Lowest Rating, 2.74 Million Viewers Watch Wayne Lai Wins TV King

Last Sunday night's audience did not seem to like bikini beauties that much.

ATV brought out its pageant competition Miss Asia Pageant to fight TVB's Anniversary Awards on Sunday night. The pageant usually score a decent rating like it did last year, where the show received 8 points, peaking 11 points.

Perhaps everyone was anxious about who is going to win TV King and Queen this year, while TVB's annual awards ceremony received an average rating of 38 points, ATV's Miss Asia only received 3 points on average, which is the lowest rating for the show throughout the years. The moment where the winner of TV King was announced even scored a 43 points rating, where 2.74 million viewers watched Wayne Lai won "Best Actor."

ATV expressed ratings do not necessary represent the actual feedback. This year's Miss Asia received a very good response from audience and its contestants are praised for their beautiful looks. The moment when the winner was announced received more than 5 points (320,000 viewers).
